Derrick Craig Deere

Derrick Craig Deere, 18, was born to David Deere and Charlene Beaver in Oklahoma City, OK on August 26, 1991. He went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2010 in Okmulgee, OK. Derrick is the baby brother to Katrina Beaver, Brandee Beaver, and Chad Deere; and the uncle to Malakai "Kai Kai"Harjo, Rylan "RJ"Deere, and Aiyana Beaver. Derrick attended Morris for 14 years and was a 2010 high school graduate. While a student at Morris Derrick played basketball, football, and baseball. He enjoyed drawing and his artwork won First Place and Best of Show. Derrick loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Other important people in Derrick's life were his girlfriend Cherokee Hughes and his best friend Jerry Russell. Derrick was a talented and successful individual who was deeply loved by all that knew him. The talents he possessed touched and inspired many. His smile and sense of humor always brightened others day and made those around him feel loved and accepted. He was always positive and truly loved life. In his short time here on Earth, he excelled in everything that he set his hands to and was on his way to becoming a success. He will be greatly missed by his family, the Morris community, the graduating class of 2010 and countless others whose lives he has touched. He is forever with us. Wake services will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at 7:00pm at the Shurden Funeral Home Chapel in Henryetta. Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 2:00pm at the Trinity Baptist Church in Morris, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of the Shurden Funeral Home of Henryetta.
