Dennis Wayne Campbell

Dennis Wayne Campbell, 67, of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017, at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Dennis was born in Tulsa, OK on September 3, 1949, a son of the late Dorothy May (Newton) and George Byron Campbell. He graduated from Joplin Senior High School in Joplin, MO and went on to attend and receive his degree from Missouri Southern State College.

He married the love of his life, Cindy (Webb) in Jasper, Missouri on January 20, 1973. They celebrated 44 years of marriage this year.

Dennis worked as Regional Manager of Shotgun Sam's Pizzeria Restaurant from 1970-1981 prior to beginning his law enforcement career. He proudly served as Police Officer and a Detective at Tulsa Police Department for 23 years from October 1, 1981 to August 31, 2003. Dennis worked as head of security for 7 years for the Tulsa Zoo from 2004-2011 and at G4S Security for 5 years from 2012 - 2017.

He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 93. Dennis enjoyed many hobbies including hunting & fishing, reading his bible, bowling, playing cards, reading military history, & religion; playing the piano, playing with his dogs & grandkids. He also enjoyed celebrating Fourth of July by shooting off fireworks; he liked to watch the History Channel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and father-in-law, Richard Webb.

Dennis leaves many loving memories with family; wife, Cindy; two daughters, Kellie Warren, and husband, Greg, Kaci Campbell and wife, Kim; brother, James Campbell; mother-in-law, Dolores Webb, grandchildren, Zachary Warren & wife Kristin, & Cody Warren; step grandchildren, Christopher Warren & wife Courtney, Amanda Jones; great-granddaughter, Hunter; many other loving family members and his loving dog, Layla.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Bethany Free Will Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK. Pastor Randy Wilson will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in memory of Dennis W. Campbell to Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma, 10026-A S. Mingo Rd., Box 269, Tulsa, OK, 74133.
