Dennis, a native of Liberal, Kansas, born on November 24, 1954, embarked on a life's journey that touched the hearts of many. He spent his formative years in Liberal, attending Liberal High School before answering the call to serve his country by enlisting in the US Army in 1972. His dedication and determination led him to complete training in Ft. Collins, CO, where he honed his skills for service abroad in Germany until 1975.
In 1982, Dennis made Oklahoma his new home, where he, alongside his beloved partner Lisa, became the proud owners and operators of D&L Donuts in Chickasha, OK. His commitment to his community and his work was unwavering.
A devout member of the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dennis exuded an inspirational spirit that left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. His zest for life knew no boundaries, and he approached each day with an infectious enthusiasm that persisted until the very end. Dennis often chuckled about his one and only regret - parting with his cherished Toyota Land Cruiser. His heart resonated with the lyrics of "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins, and music, motorcycle rides, and family gatherings around his mother's table filled with homemade tacos were among his greatest joys. He delighted in sharing stories of his adventures and mischievous escapades with his brothers during their childhood.
Dennis embodied the essence of strength and resilience, never surrendering to the challenges of his long battle with MS. He became a guiding light for all who knew him, teaching us to discover the beauty in every circumstance and within every person. He loved unconditionally, a testament to the depth of his character. His absence leaves a void that will be felt deeply, but his memory will forever be cherished with profound love and admiration.
