Deborah Marshall

August 30, 1956 — January 10, 2014

Deborah Sue (Debi) Marshall passed from this life early on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the age of 57. Debi died peacefully in her home as she napped on the sofa.

Debi was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 30, 1956, the daughter and second of three daughters to George Edgar Williams Jr. and Margaret Sue Williams. She spent her childhood in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated in 1974 from McLain High School.

During Debi’s childhood she enjoyed going to the lake to camp, ski, fish and swim, going to Mohawk Zoo, playing outside and riding bikes in the street with friends like we did back in that day. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout, and loved to play fastpitch softball and was a great catcher for the Turley Redbirds who was coached by her Dad. Debi was also an avid gymnast in junior high school and won recognition in the parallel bars and horse routines. Debi then went on to play competitive women’s and co-ed softball, and she and her husband, Charlie Marshall, enjoyed that together.

According to Debi, the highlight of her life was enjoying her family. She had two sons, Matthew Jason Manning born in 1975 and Michael Charles Marshall born in 1980. She loved watching the boys activities, sports of all kinds. Wrestling, baseball, and football were their favorites and both Jason and Mike loved having their Mom and Dad and family at their activities. Debie most recently enjoyed soccer games with Ceirra and Jason and teaching Mikelynn how to make potholders for her Dad, Mike.

Debi loved and appreciated animals. She most recently had a cat for many years named “Kitty” and one that she cared for with her Grandaughter Ceirra named “Toby”.

Debi is preceded in death by her loving husband Charlie Marshall, mother Margaret Sue Williams, and her grandparents Ruby and Edgar Williams of Tulsa. Charlie was an avid runner and collapsed at the finish line of the Tulsa Run in 1993 with Debi and Michael by his side. Debi and the family continued to participate in the Tulsa Run in his honor in the years to follow.

Debi is survived by her father and step-mom George and Peggy Williams of Tulsa, sisters Teresa Winterhalder, Vicki Williams, sons Michael Marshall and Jason Marshall of Glenpool, Amy Hill and Mark Marshall; granddaughters: Ceirra Manning, Mikelynn and Marthena Marshall, and her niece Taylor Mesa and MJ Mesa along with their twin sons born in November, Alex and Jordan. Debbie was also survived by her Uncle Charlie and Aunt Janie Williams and cousins Linda Williams and Dianna Wakefield. Debi had friends she enjoyed and stayed in contact with from church -“The Landing", neighbors, school and lots of family. Debbie is dearly missed by her family and friends.
