Deanna Jo (Ishmael) Hamrick, 83, a life long resident of Jenks, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024. Deanna was a librarian at Memorial High School, a world traveler, and the matriarch of a large, loving family.
She is survived by her daughters Theresa Widowski (Ferlin), Sheila Whitfield (Tracy), Dana Bowen (Mike), grandchildren Aubrey Watts (Nathan), Blake Bowen (Desirae), Grant Bowen (Jamie) and Dylan Boyd; great grandchildren Bentley Bowen, Caleb Collins, Hunter Bowen, Olivia Bowen, Serenity Bowen, James Watts, Dani Watts and Eliza Watts; her sister Jeannie Dowler, many cousins, nieces and nephews, her bonus family (the Hamricks) and many lifelong friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Hamrick, her parents Lee and Julia Ishmael, her sister Linda Smith, her brothers Marshall Ishmael and Lane Ishmael, and her grandson, Daniel Whitfield.
To all she leaves a legacy encouraging us to live large, travel to know the world, order dessert, and love generously.
A celebration of her life will be held at St. James Presbyterian Church in Jenks on March 19th at 2:00. Streamed live on the St. James Jenks facebook page.
