David Leon Blackwell

February 4, 1963 — January 27, 2015

David Leon Blackwell, son of Wanda Blackwell of Morris and Leon and Georgia Blackwell of Broken Arrow died early Tuesday morning on January 27, 2015 at the age of 51. He is survived by four siblings: Gaye Etheridge of Konowa, Robert Blackwell of Mounds, Gwynn Blackwell of Morris and Karen Hart of Bartlesville and stepson Josh Bullard of Morris. He is also survived by many other relatives and numerous friends. He is a graduate of the 1981 graduating class of Morris High School. He graduated from Connors State College with an Associate Degree and worked as a machinist in Tulsa for several years. In his earlier years his priority interest was his motorcycle which he rode everywhere. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He had an outgoing personality and related to people of all age, size, race and culture. He had the ability to make the individual he interacted with feel special. He had a few inhibitions and did not hold grudges. During the course of his last year it seemed like he was on a mission: he wanted everyone to know something about Jesus. He quoted scripture to everyone he met, whether they wanted to hear it or not. He was single-mindedly focused in this endeavor. In summary his message to all would be to find God and serve Him to the best of their ability. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Apostolic Life 1533 E. 13th St. Okmulgee with Robert Rich officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Hitchita Cemetery.
