Darryl Ray Leach passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at his home in Broken Arrow. He was born March 7, 1960 to Johnnie and Betty (Bowen) Leach in Tulsa.
Darryl graduated from Claremore High School in 1978. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies and History Education at Northeastern State University in 1983. Darryl was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity in College. He taught Social Studies at Haskell Middle School in Haskell, Ok and worked as a substitute teacher at various schools including Union and Wright Christian Academy. Darryl also worked for Onyx Corporation as a delivery driver and spent the last seven years of his career at Wal-Mart.
Darryl's true passion was teaching. He loved sports and was a fan particularly for the Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma City Thunder, Pittsburgh Steelers and he loved baseball. Darryl coached little league baseball and softball through Broken Arrow Youth Sports. He loved college sports the most. Darryl loved bowling and was an avid bowling member of the Tulsa Bowling Association. He loved watching golf, especially the Masters.
Darryl loved History, John Wayne, Elvis Presley, watching western movies and listening to classic country music. He has a great sense of humor. Darryl had big dreams and hopes for his family in life. He was a member of Broken Arrow First Church of the Nazarene since 2001.
Darryl was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathy Ann Leach. He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children: Ryan C. Leach and Amanda N. Leach.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Schaudt-Teel Funeral Service in Tulsa. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Broken Arrow First Church of Nazarene with the interment following at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, OK.
