Daniel Michael McCollum age 61 passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 at his Kellyville, Oklahoma residence. Daniel was born December 29, 1951 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Ulice McCollum and Margaret (Poor) McCollum. He worked as a Roughneck in the oil industry. Daniel married the love of his life Millie Barnes on Oct 3, 1970 in Sapulpa. To which Millie blessed him with a daughter, Margaret Ann. Although Daniel and Millie did'nt remain married they remained friends and were still in love up to Millies death in 2004. Daniel enjoyed fishing, camping, flea markets and auctions. he was very good with his hands and could fix anything. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family whom he loved very much. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a sweet temperament. In 2007 he had an accident that rendered him bedbound and even then he kept his positive attitude and strong will to keep going on with his life. During this time Daniel was blessed with many excellent nurses that loved and cared for him with respect and dignity. Christy, Eileene and Dr. Dimmitt visited him often and always had lots of smiles, kisses and handfuls of chocolate for him. Along with Millie and his parents he is preceeded in death by four brothers : Herman, Norman, Kenneth amd Robert. Two sisters : Helen Philpott and Maggie Berry. Left to mourn his passing are his daughter and her husband Wesley Bost, a grandaughter Anastasia, a brother Pete Mccollum, and a sister Retha and her husband Wayne Pendergrass also numerous nieces nephews and cousins. Daniel will be greatly missed by so many. Services are private at the convenience of family. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
