Daniel devoted his professional life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Diversicare in Chanute. Through his compassionate work, gentle spirit, and lively sense of humor, he brought great joy to many, leaving an enduring impact on the lives he touched. His presence was a source of laughter and comfort for those around him.

In his personal life, Daniel found joy in life's simple pleasures.He always enjoyed watching movies of all genres and loved discussing plot points. He also cherished lively moments spent playing games, fostering connections and laughter with those close to him. A loyal supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs, Daniel celebrated every victory and stood by his team with steadfast devotion. Above all else, he treasured the time spent with his beloved daughter, MaKayla Hurd, whose happiness was his greatest joy.

Daniel's memory is lovingly carried forward by his daughter, MaKayla Hurd; his father, John Hurd; and his brother, Anthony Hurd. He is reunited in peace with his mother, Joyce Hurd, and his sister, Angela Wohlberg.

A visitation will take place at Thayer Christian Church on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.

Daniel will be remembered as a beacon of warmth and love by all who knew him. May the memory of his kind heart and joyful spirit continue to bring solace to those who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
