Daniel Blane Grounds

Daniel Blane Grounds age 50, passed from this life after a 4-1/2 year battle with cancer on Sunday, October 17, 2010 surrounded by loving family members.
Daniel was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 20, 1960 to Chuck Grounds and Ellen (Bourland) Grounds. He graduated from Jenks High School in 1978 and attended Southeastern State University. Daniel worked as a Banking Center Manager for Bank of America in Tulsa. He was a beekeeper by the age of 14 and also flew his solo flight at age 16. He enjoyed riding his bike, fishing, and hiking. He had a love for dogs and all animals. Daniel was a docent for the Tulsa Zoo.
He is survived by his wife: Cindy (Rosenke) Grounds of Tulsa; his parents: Chuck and Ellen Grounds of Jenks; his step-daughter: Amalia Smith and her husband, Alan of Sand Springs; his brother: David Grounds and his wife, Beth of Tulsa; his sister: Susan Duncan of Jenks; his nieces: Emily and Kristen Grounds of Tulsa; his nephew: Jacob Duncan of Jenks; his mother in-law: Margaret Gorham of Midwest City, Oklahoma along with other family members, friends and acquaintances.

A Celebration of Daniel's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Five Oaks Lodge in Jenks, OK. Mr. Gary Volz will officiate the celebration.
