Damon Lee Toppah, age 49, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. He was born on September 11, 1975, in Wichita, Kansas to Esther Jean Toppah. Damon was raised in Anadarko, Oklahoma, before moving to Tulsa, where he would spend the majority of his life.
Damon met Jennifer, the love of his life, and the two were united in marriage on October 3, 1998. Together, they shared a deep bond and a life filled with love, raising their cherished daughter, Micah. Damon was a devoted and loving husband and father, a gentle and thoughtful soul who was fiercely protective of his family, particularly his "girls." He dedicated his life to supporting and caring for those he loved, always prioritizing them above all else.
An introvert by nature, Damon found peace in the small things and loved seeing God's handiwork in the beauty of nature. He was a man of faith, and his love for the Lord was reflected in his quiet, steadfast character. Damon had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, where he found joy in his work as a talented landscaper. He also enjoyed working in the automotive equipment industry, where his skills and knowledge were highly valued. Damon had a passion for baseball, particularly the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he was an animal lover through and through. He had a special affection for his family dogs, Duke and Benny, who brought him much joy. Damon had a natural knack for dog training, teaching his dogs commands and tricks, and even taught Duke to wink. Damon loved his Camaro, a car that was a source of pride and joy, reflecting his love for precision, power, and the open road. He also enjoyed watching documentaries, especially those about Alaska.
Damon leaves behind his beloved wife of 26 years, Jennifer Toppah, and their daughter, Micah Toppah. He is also survived by his sisters, Lucretia Toppah, Carmen Toppah, Leah Toppah, and Genevieve Toppah; his brothers, Russell Toppah, Sidney Toppah, Robert Toppah, David Toppah, Jeff Toppah, Kelly Toppah, and Justin Toppah; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Damon was affectionately known to the younger generations as "Grandpa Cheetos," a name that brought smiles to the faces of all who knew him.
