Dale Peter Hnatusko

June 22, 1956 — December 1, 2015

Dale Peter Hnatusko was born in Scranton, PA on June 22nd, 1956 to Peter and Catherine Hnatusko. He passed away December 1st, 2015 at the age of 59. A service celebrating his life will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Claremore, OK on December 5th, 2015 at 1:00pm.

Dale graduated from North Pocono High School in 1974. He then married his high-school sweetheart, Karen (Deykes) Hnatusko, in 1977. Dale became licensed as an airframe and power plant mechanic at Teterboro School of Aeronautics in New Jersey. He moved to Verdigris, OK in 1985 and began his career with American Airlines as an aircraft maintenance technician. Dale remained employed with American Airlines for the next 30 years.

He was the father of two children, Aubrey and Shane. As they were growing up, he was a dedicated coach of countless sports teams and an enthusiastic supporter at numerous dance recitals, gymnastic meets, academic events, and any other activities his children participated in. Whether raising a litter of hunting dog puppies with his daughter or spending invaluable time in the outdoors hunting and fishing with his son, he was always devoted to being with his family.
Dale was an avid outdoorsman with his passion being upland bird hunting and bird dog training. He also loved to fish, garden, exercise, and tend to his apple trees. Dale was an active member at First Presbyterian Church in Claremore, OK and served as an elder and head of the building and grounds committee.

Preceded in death by his mother Catherine Kolis Hnatusko. Survived by his wife, Karen Hnatusko, his two children, Aubrey (Hnatusko) Flanders and Shane Hnatusko, his son-in-law John Flanders, his father, Peter Hnatusko, his sisters Denise Hnatusko, Laura Filingo, Janine Crissey, his brother Michael Hnatusko, and his beloved English Setter puppy, Northwoods Blue Skye.

The Hnatusko family requests that any memorial contributions be directed to the National Prion Disease Pathology Surveillance Center at Case Western Reserve University.
