Dale B. Puett died April 13, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Dale was born in Memphis, Tennessee and move to Oklahoma City with his mother and maternal grandmother at the age of three. He was raised in Oklahoma City, and moved to Tulsa as an adult. After working for Dryvit Systems for many years, Dale eventually moved to Physicians Mutual Insurance, where he later retired. He lived a very active life, and loved to travel, with his favorite travel destination being Hawaii. Dale was also a lifelong Oklahoma Sooner football fan, and loved to cheer them on every season. Prior to requiring long-term care, Dale was a devoted member of Woodland Acres Baptist Church. In his Bible, his family found a verse from a favorite hymn: "Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, for the things of Earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace." Dale was preceded in death by his parents and maternal grandmother, as well as his younger brother Lt. Col. L.R. (Bob) Puett Jr. USA, Ret. He is survived by three children, seven grandchildren and one sister, Marilyn Puett Sullivan of Choctaw, Oklahoma. He is also survived by two nieces, three nephews, and his beloved dog, Mahli. Graveside services will be held at Sunny Lane Cemetery in Del City, Oklahoma at 11:00 AM, Saturday April 20th. Dale's friends are welcome to attend. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers at Emeritus Assisted Living Center in Tulsa, who were so kind to Dale and his family toward the end of his life. We would also like to thank his dear friends, Dennis and Karen Linscheid, who made sure Dale was well cared-for and attended to throughout his illness. Your selflessness and devotion to Dale have been deeply appreciated.
