Colleen Kay Tah

Colleen Kay Tah, passed away with loving family by her side on July 13, 2019, at the age of 67 years. Colleen was born on July 25, 1951 in Kalamazoo, MI to her parents, Merle (Mackey) Nichols and Kenneth Nichols. She earned her Associates Degree in nursing and worked at Claremore Regional Hospital as an LPN for 12 years. As her health declined she retired but continued her career teaching CNA and Phlebotomy at Northeast Vo-tech for 10 years. She enjoyed caring for people and teaching her many students. When she was put on hospice she was delighted to have many of her students take care of her. She was cared for by her Sister-in-law Amanda Tah and niece Desiree for the last year.

Mom enjoyed fishing, The 49ers, going to yard sales, Nascar, her zoo of animals especially her canine companion Ginger and decorating her home for all the holidays. You could see the blow-ups and lights for miles! She is preceded in death by Merle Scott (Mother), Gallen Nichols (Brother) and estranged father Kenneth Nichols. Colleen is survived by her best friend and husband Raymond Tah of Claremore, Daughters Melissa (Clay) Chambers and Tracey (Clint) Killingsworth and Son Thomas (Christy) Nunley. 9 grandchildren Liz, Sam, Thomas, Jacob, Hannah, Cheyenne, Matthew, Michael, and Sarah. Four sisters, Annita Grant, Susan Cooprider, Jody Ortiz, Penny Martin. Three brothers Dale Nichols, Garry Nichols, and Kenneth Nichols, and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 317 S Davis Avenue, Claremore, Oklahoma 74017 on Friday July 19, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with a small reception to follow.
