Cleta Mae Martin

Cleta Mae Martin Cleta Mae Martin, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the age of 97. She was born Friday, October 3, 1913 to William Elmer and Jessie (Pierce) Bowers in Waukomis, Oklahoma. On October 14, 1934, she married Jack B. Martin in Ft. Collins, Colorado. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Okmulgee; she belonged to the Pony Girls, Tops 141 Okmulgee, A.A.R.P and the Ball group. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Jessie Bowers; husband, Jack B. Martin in 1987; daughter, Donna Ruth Martin and grandson, David Dean Martin. Survivors include her two sons, Ronald Dee Martin and wife, Elaine of Okmulgee and Kenneth Dell Martin of Canton, Kansas; one sister, Luella Graefe of Tulsa; one grandson, Dwight Martin; one great grandson, Dale Martin and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Jennifer Grantham officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Dwight Martin, Dale Martin, Jack Harland, Alvin Arterbury, Dan Sulivant and Judge John Maley. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Foundation 401 S.
