Cleo Felix (Bud) Rainwater went to be with his Lord Sunday, March 13, 2005 at the Claremore Regional Hospital, Claremore, Oklahoma.
Mr. Rainwater was born September 11, 1925 in Depew, Oklahoma to James Felix Rainwater and Nancy Jane Finney. He met the love of his life, Freda Sylvetta Potts Rainwater; they married and resided in Ontario, California where he worked as a laborer before he joined the service.
He was inducted into the United States Army November 26, 1943 and began active duty December 17, 1943 as a Heavy Mortar Crewman. He served in the Philippine Campaigns and received the Purple Heart, American Theatre Ribbon, Victory Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman Badge; Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon, 1 Bronze Campaign Star and Good Conduct Ribbon. He was injured March 23, 1945 at Luzon (Philippines) and discharged January 25, 1946.
Mr. Rainwater worked as a surveyor for Division of Highway for the State of California before returning to Oklahoma. Mr. Rainwater resided in Glenpool, Oklahoma moving from Bixby, Oklahoma and most recently he was a patient at the Veterans Hospital in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Church; he enjoyed listening to music, was the Checker King at the Vet Center in Claremore, Oklahoma. He also enjoyed playing Dominos and his family was his main focus.
Mr. Rainwater was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Freda Potts Rainwater who passed away May 15, 2002, his son: Gerry Rainwater and 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by two sons: Rodney Rainwater, Kiefer, OK; Danny Rainwater and his wife, Cindy, of Sperry, OK; two daughters: Deborah Mc Elyea and her husband, Roger, Glenpool, OK and Lori Fisher and her husband, Harry, Mannford, OK. Mr. Rainwater has 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel with burial immediately following at Bixby Cemetery, Bixby, Oklahoma.
