A celebration to honor and remember the life of Chester Maurice Sutton “Chip” will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 3, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Bixby, Oklahoma.
Chip passed away on May 1, 2018 at the age of 66 in Tulsa, Oklahoma with his loving family by his side. He was born in Los Angeles, CA to the parents of Herman and Evelyn Sutton (Morris). Chester graduated from Wister High School in Wister, OK in 1969 and then went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in drafting in 1972 from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. He spent his working years as a shift foreman for a company called Sun Oil until retirement in 2011.
When Chip wasn’t working he enjoyed being a papa to his grandchildren, who he loved to spoil and spend as much time as he could with. On Saturday’s you could catch him in front of the TV cheering on his Oklahoma State Cowboys. He was an avid golfer and regardless of what the weather was like he would be out on the golf course any chance he could. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa and friend to all and will be greatly missed.
Chip is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Evelyn Sutton.
Survived by his loving wife, Norma Sutton; children, Michael Sutton and wife Megan, Heather Bartley and husband Judd, Brock Sutton and wife Morgan; sisters, Rose brown and husband Dennie, Nina Dixion and husband Don; grandchildren, Maddie, Brooklyn, Emma, Jack, Elliott and Cooper.
Viewing will follow the service from 12:00 – 5:00 P.M. at Schaudt’s Funeral Service in Glenpool, OK 719 E. 141st Street.
