Charles Van Robertson age 83 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at his Tulsa residence.
Charlie was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on July 29, 1926 to Dan Robertson and Myrta (Tanner) Robertson. He graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1944. On June 7, 1944 he married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Eulalah (Smith) Robertson. This same year he started his career with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT). Charlie was a Registered Professional Engineer and a Registered Professional Land Surveyor. He worked in various capacities including Surveyor, Resident Engineer, Division Engineer and Materials Engineer. During 44 year tenure with the department he worked in many areas across the State of Oklahoma. He worked and lived in Sapulpa, Altus, Muskogee, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Ada, Hominy, Vinita, Perry and Tonkawa.
Charlie loved his church. He helped build the Faith Baptist Church in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He was active in his church and loved cooking for his church family and for his own family gatherings. He was the happiest when he was surrounded by family members. Charlie also enjoyed doing gardening work.
Charlie was preceded in death by is parents: Dan and Myrta Robertson; his brothers: Mitchell Robertson and A. C. Robertson.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years: Eulalah Robertson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his sister: Pat Monger, widow of Roy Monger of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; his sons: Dan Robertson and his wife, Nancy of Tulsa, Oklahoma; David Robertson of Boulder, Colorado; his four grandchildren: Dallas Robertson and his wife, Licia of St. Paul, Minnesota; Cicely Robertson of St. Louis, Missouri; Kit Robertson of Boulder, Colorado, Randi Robertson of Burlington, Vermont; his two great grandchildren: Grace and Anya Robertson of St. Paul, Minnesota; along other family members, friends and acquaintances.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 26th at Faith Baptist Church, 7100 Highway 117, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Reverend Paul Littleton and Reverend Garnet Cole will officiate
