Charles "Charlie" Stewart Pratt age 92 passed away at his daughter's residence in Jenks, Oklahoma on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Charles was born in Harwich, Massachusetts on June 2, 1919 to Harold S. Pratt and Alice May Macaskill. He graduated from Harwich High School in 1937. On February 18, 1941 Charles was drafted into the United States Army during World War II at Harwich, Massachusetts and reported for service at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Charles made a career in the military for twenty years and retired with an honorable discharge on May 31, 1967. Charles married Betsy Sawyer on December 18, 1943. He worked for RCA for sixteen years. Both in his military career and as a community service Charles worked as a fire chief. He is a lifetime member of the Harwich, Massachusetts Fire Department Association. He enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, wood working and stamp collecting. On August 6, 2010 Charles and his wife, Betsy moved to his daughter's home in Jenks, Oklahoma from Rio Rancho, New Mexico. One of his favorite sayings was when his children would say, "I'm hungry" he would reply, "glad to meet you hungry.... I'm Charles". Charles was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Alice Pratt, his sister Phyllis Crabe and his son Charles "Sparky" Jr. He is survived by her wife: Betsy of Jenks; his daughters: Sue Ellen Osika of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Dianne Pratt Woolsey of Jenks, Oklahoma; his loving four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Memorial service will be 2:00 Monday, June 27, 2011 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel, Glenpool, Oklahoma. Reverend Mark Simpson will officiate. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C.
