Charles Norman Myrter

Charles Norman Myrter, a former resident of Okmulgee, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the age of 68. He was born August 2, 1946 to Charles Aaron and Luella Mae (Hormell) Myrter in North Charleroi, Pennsylvania. He graduate from Okmulgee High School in 1965 and served in the United States Air Force. He attended St. Anthony school and church in Okmulgee and was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Tulsa. Charles was a very smart man, who loved to read, enjoyed history, traveling and collected unique items. Charles was a good person to everyone he met and he will be missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Aaron and Luella Mae Myrter and his wife, Myra Myrter. Survivors include his sister, Martha Cheatwood and husband, Ron; brother, Robert David Myrter and wife, Marsha and numerous other relatives and friends. A Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Okmulgee. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Joshua E. Litwack and Reverend Msgr. Patrick Gaalaas officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the Jackson Funeral Home and Crematory in Okmulgee. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
