Charles E. Reid

Charles Elbert Reid age 87 passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma Charles was born in Cleveland, Arkansas on June 24, 1924 to Arthur Reid and Eva (Bennett) Reid. He married Verna Berniece on December 27, 1944 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Charles honorably served his country during WWII in the United States Army. Charles worked for Safeway Food Stores as a Diesel Mechanic for thirteen years before he retired in 1986. Charles was a long time member of Faith Church. Charles was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur and Eva Reid, his son, Charles Reid, Jr., his brothers and sisters, Noah Reid, Bill Reid, Henry Reid, Leonard Reid, his twin sister, Charlene Cousins, Olgia Biffle and Viola Ticer. He is survived by his wife, Verna Berniece Reid of Glenpool, his daughter Patricia Dawson and her husband, Hugh of Llano, Texas, his daughter Nita Farquharson and her husband, Ray of Salina, Oklahoma, his sons Reece Reid of Glenpool, OK and Allen Reid of Park Hill, Oklahoma his sister Naomi White of Midwest City, Oklahoma along with thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday October 12, 2011 at Faith Church, 1901 W. 171st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma. Reverend Greg Conners will officiate. Interment will take place at Wetumka Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bob Deaton, Rick Deaton, Charles Reid III, Brent Reid, Clifton Roberts and Jim Roberts. Honorary Pallbearers are Tom Hill, John Moss, Pat Hayne, Terrill Quinton, Dwayne Boggs and Jerry Martin. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C.
