Charles Dixon Hill

Charles Dixon Hill age 78 passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Charles was born January 15, 1931 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Cornelius Dixon Hill and Mildred (Self) Hill. He graduated from Central High School in 1948. He graduated from University of Tulsa with a BA degree in Business Administration. Charles served his country for four years with the United States Marine Corp. during the Korean War. While in the service, he was a member of the United States Marine Corp. Band. Charles married Grace Rayedelle (Hughes) Hill on November 20, 1959.
He worked in the steel industry for forty years most recently as a general manager for Fintube Technologies. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling, water skiing, body surfing, and riding motorcycles. More recently, he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and attending their activities; following TU sports, attending air shows, and watching football. He was a proud member of the northeastern Oklahoma Chapter of The Chosin Few, a Korean War Veteran group.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter: Alexandra Rose Oakes.
Charles is survived by his wife: Grace Rayedelle Hill of Glenpool, his children: Curtis Dee Hill and his wife, Mona of Tulsa; Becky Jenks of Glenpool; Brenda Kay Wilson and her husband, Russell of Arlington, Texas; Elizabeth Rae Oakes and her husband, Mike of Jenks; Charles Dixon Hill, Jr. of Glenpool; his brothers: Robert M. Hill of Addison, Texas, William C. (Johnny)Hill and his wife, Ann of Kilgore, Texas; his five grandchildren: Melissa Ann Ellis and her husband, Sam of Glenpool; Kaitlyn Nichole Wilson, Michael Russell Wilson both of Arlington, Texas; Tyler Michael Oakes and Rachel Elizabeth Oakes both of Jenks, Oklahoma along with a host of friends and acquaintances.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 15th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma at noon. Reverend Gary Volz will officiate.
