Charles Clifford Cantrell, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the age of 90. He was born on Friday, March 26, 1920 to Lee Roy and Sadie (Duvall) Cantrell in Okemah, Oklahoma. On May 24, 1946 he married Joan Cantrell in Chandler, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army during WWII and the South Pacific. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Okmulgee. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Joan Cantrell in 2006; his parents and one brother, Irven Cantrell. Survivors include his son, Steven Kyle Cantrell and wife, Peggy of Nuyaka and daughter, Donna Presser and husband David of Okmulgee; three grandchildren, Christopher Cantrell and wife, Christina of Beggs, Joey Cantrell and wife, Tammy of Muskogee and Patrick Cantrell of Nuyaka and two great grandchildren, Drake and Jake Cantrell both of Beggs. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee with Reverend Jerry Fielder officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Mr. Cantrell’s three grandsons, Christoper, Joey and Patrick Cantrell will serve as Pallbearers. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home.
