Charles Alan Whittaker age 61 beloved husband, father, grandfather, after battling years of ill health, went home to our Lord on Friday, April 23, 2010 at his residence in Jenks, Oklahoma surrounded by his family members.
Charles was born April 16, 1949 in Oklahoma City to Leland Whittaker and Elizabeth Iris (Dunn) Whitaker. He graduated from Northwest Classen High School and later attended Oklahoma State University where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He married Luvona (Lucy) Rose Carling on August 2, 1975 in Beaver, Pennsylvania. He was blessed to work for Federal Corporation from 1984 to 2007. Charles enjoyed photography and was a fan of the Dodger's baseball team. He was a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Charles was preceded in death by his parents: Lee and Elizabeth Whittaker. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Whittaker of Jenks; his children: Jennifer Toppah and her husband, Damon of Tulsa; Christy Locker and her husband, Chris of Tulsa; his son: James Whittaker and his wife, Dana of Tulsa; Amy Whittaker of Jenks; his sisters: Iris Washington and her husband, George of Tulsa; Sharon Ward and her husband, Don of Wynnewood, Oklahoma; his brother: Robert Whittaker and his wife, Melissa of Edmond, Oklahoma; his Aunt Ruth Bash; his precious grandchildren: Marissa Locker, Afton Locker, Micah Toppah along with numerous other family members, friends and acquaintances.
The family is grateful for the wonderful care provided by Saint Francis Hospital, Home Health, Hospice and family friend, Ruth Faltisko.
Pallbearers are: Damon Toppah, Chris Locker, Andy Locker, Brian Ward, Jeffrey Whittaker and Steve Hamm.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2010 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel. Reverend Ricky Jones will officiate.
