Ms. Charlene J. Adair passed away on October 27, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born December 24, 1927 in Braggs, Oklahoma to parents, Finnie E. and Rena (Irving) Derrick. She was the second child in a family of eight children.
A longtime resident of Muskogee before moving to Tulsa in 1983, she was employed for 35 years as an administrative assistant with the federal government. She was an active in a number of civic, religious, and philanthropic organizations in Muskogee during her productive years. She worked 10 years for the American Heart Association after moving to Tulsa.
Proud of her Cherokee heritage, she was a direct descendent of Nancy Ward, renowned Cherokee beloved woman.
Ms. Adair was predeceased by her parents; four brothers, Miles, Wesley, Bill, and Jerry; as well as two sisters, Patricia Pryor, and Betty Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan, of the home, and sister, Glenda Tolbert (Phil) of Tulsa, brother-in-law Dewey Johnson of Springdale, Arkansas; sister-in-law Phyllis Derrick of Muskogee, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel. Memorial donations can be made to Miller Hospice or the Porta Caeli House.
