Cecil V. Calvert

Cecil Virgil Calvert, 85, long- time resident of Glenpool OK, earned his wings to Heaven September 6, 2012. He was born September 13, 1926 in McIntosh County Oklahoma to Virgil and Dora Calvert. He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and sisters, his two great granddaughters. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Neva Calvert of the home; his brother Kimble Calvert of Cincinatti, AR; his children Brenda (Butch) Anderson of Glenpool , OK; Cecil (Joyce) Calvert of Glenpool, OK; Mike (Kathy) Calvert of Glenpool, OK; Roger (Rhonda) Calvert of Springdale, AR; David (Karen) Calvert of Sapulpa, OK; Becki (Gerry) Bear of Broken Arrow, OK; 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Cecil lived life to the fullest. He was extremely proud of his family and was happiest during our large family gatherings. Cecil was a man of integrity and instilled strong character values in his children. He believed in working hard for a dollar, living an honest life, and caring for others. He always grew the biggest, most beautiful garden. He had a giving spirit and gave the majority of his vegetables to family, friends, and neighbors. You could always count on a friendly wave from the front porch of his home or his scooter as he cruised through town; he never met a stranger. Cecil was a retired barber, bus driver, and public service worker for the City of Glenpool. We were blessed to have the years we spent with him. While we will miss him greatly on this earth, we know we will be reunited one day and he will be waiting patiently for us with the 'Good Man'. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday September 9, 2012 at Schaudt's Funeral Service Chapel, 719 E. 141st Glenpool, OK 74033 Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Faith Church, 1901 W. 171st Street, Glenpool, OK with Reverend Toby Youndblood officiating. Interment will follow at City of Bixby Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
