Cecil Ernest Edmonds, a resident of Morris, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the age of 79. He was born January 4, 1932 to John Wiley and Hazel Mary (Richwine) Edmonds in Morris, Oklahoma. Cecil graduated from Morris High School in 1949 and on June 8, 1950, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Dorene McIntyre in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Henryetta. Cecil retired from OSU-Okmulgee in 1985 as an instructor in Manufacturing Technology. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wiley and Hazel Mary Edmonds; brothers, Granvel Edmonds and Delmar Edmonds and sisters, Florence Winborn and Doris Edmonds. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Edmonds of the home; two children, David Edmonds and wife, Carolyn of Morris and Diana Fuller and husband, Rick of Noble; brothers, Harold J. Edmonds of Los Angeles, CA and Wiley B. Edmonds of Double Oak, TX; sisters, Gladys Arnold of Nazareth, KY, Joyce Billings of Okmulgee, Nadean Hallmark of Flower Mound, TX and Rozella Smith Lane of Council Hill; fifteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2011 at the United Pentecostal Church in Morris with Reverend Rick Fuller and Reverend Larry Grissom officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Morris Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Brian Fuller, Paul Fuller, Andrew Edmonds, Matthew Edmonds, Daniel Edmonds and Jonathan Edmonds. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
