Catherine Juanita (Durkee) Rutledge age 77 passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 in Mounds, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family members. Catherine was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 6, 1934 to Charlie Durkee and Goldia (Higgons) Durkee. She was a homemaker and liked camping, fishing, tending her flower beds, spending time with her family and her dog. Catherine loved Elvis. She also loved to travel and her favorite place was Padre Island, Texas and Lake Eufaula. She was preceded in death by her parents: Charlie and Goldia Durkee, her husband, Johnny Rutledge (1980), four brothers, two sisters, granddaughter Stacy Dawn Bowers and great grandson Pierce Phillips. Catherine is survived by her daughter Vickie Bowers and her husband, Rex of Mounds; her son Johnny Rutledge, Jr. and his wife, Marcy of Mounds, her sisters: Rosalea Robinson and her husband, Carl of Turley, Bea Knight and her husband, Bob, Betty Nunley widow of the late Pete Nunley of Owasso. Catherine is also survived by her grandchildren: Lisa Dawn Turner and her husband Michael, Brandi Phillips and her husband Scott, Johnna and her husband, Brandon James, Johnny Rutledge III, Jake Scott, Jace Scott, her great grandchildren, Bella and Elli James, Madison and Megan Turner along with numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation is 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2011 at First Baptist Church, Glenpool, Oklahoma. Reverend Richard Stapleton and Reverend Jason Yarbrough will officiate. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Sperry, Oklahoma. Pallbearers are Brandon James, Michael Turner, Scott Phillips,Johnny Rutledge III, Jake Scott and Dennis Forehand. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
