Carson Wayne Noteware

November 8, 1946 — August 10, 2003

Lt. Carson Wayne Noteware, 56 of Glenpool, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior while on duty, Sunday August 10, 2003. Mr. Noteware was born November 8, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Alvin Noteware and Lonita Marcine Mezel Noteware. Mr. Noteware was a graduate of McLain High School and Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. Carson served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Noteware married Teresa Helen Chambers June 8, 1991 at the First Baptist Church in Glenpool, Oklahoma. Mr. Noteware was a member of the First Baptist Church in Glenpool, a member of the VFW and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #133 and a police officer for Jenks, Owasso, Mannford, and Skiatook prior to joining the Glenpool Police Department in 1982.
A twenty one year veteran of the Glenpool Police Department, Lt. Carson Noteware was recognized for his years of selfless service to the city and the community by being awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for 2002. A personable resident and officer Carson played an instrumental role in making sure the Pride of the Warriors Marching Band had the opportunity to attend the state finals football championship. Knowing the budget was tight at the school, he and several others made sure that they had the money not only for the band trip, but for stand-by ambulance service at the last home game.
Carson was a friend to youth, indeed, but still intelligent, level-headed and courteous while performing his job. A self described €œlaid-back€ person, he felt that he had mellowed even further over the years. Like the other officers, Carson realized he was sometimes the only ambassador of goodwill for Glenpool that travelers ever saw. Fortunately, he was an €œexcellent€ representative of the best of Glenpool.
Mr. Noteware was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Noteware. Carson is survived by his mother, Lonita Marcine Mezel Noteware of Glenpool, Oklahoma; his loving wife, Teresa Helen Noteware of the home; his son, Michael James Noteware of Stillwater, Oklahoma; daughter, Shelley and husband, Gary Wallace, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; daughters Rachel and her husband Michael Matheney of Glenpool, Oklahoma; Jessica and her husband, Bob Ballinger of Gravette, Arkansas, Karey Jo Thomas of Glenpool, Oklahoma; sister, Diana and her husband Michael Mattox of Topeka, Kansas; six grandchildren and two on the way, and a host of nephews and friends.
