Carson Dale Mckeown

June 21, 1942 — June 12, 2018

A Memorial Service will be held honoring and remembering the life of Carson Dale McKeown on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 12 PM at St. Thomas Moore Parish. Carson passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 with his family by his side. He was 75.

Carson was born on June 21, 1942 in Hope, Arkansas. He was the son of Rose (Cates) McKeown and Edward Dale McKeown. The family moved to California and lived there for the most part of Carson's young life and then they relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma where Carson called "home".

He was a 1960 graduate from Will Rogers High School. Carson continued his education at Tulsa University and then transferred to Oklahoma State University where he received his bachelors degree as a Chemical Engineer in 1967.

On December 18, 1998 he married the love of his life, Olga (Reategui Lopez) McKeown in Peru.

Although Carson attended Oklahoma State University, he was a huge OU fan and loved watching the football games and talking about them with his brother, John. He was a collector of many things. He took great pride in the silver coins and artifacts he collected, such as arrowheads and rocks. Something that surprised his wife, Olga when they met was that Carson was an extraordinary dancer. He taught ballroom dancing when he was younger with his sister, Mary. He and Olga loved to go to the Caravan to dance to country music a few times a week. Carson enjoyed cooking and entertaining for his friends and family. He was a generous man that often helped others. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

When Carson was ill he converted to Catholicism at his home. He then felt in peace.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Dale McKeown.

Survivors include his loving wife, Olga (Reategui Lopez) McKeown; mother, Rose (Cates) McKeown; brother, John McKeown and his wife, Karen and sister, Mary McKeown-Ellis and her husband, Ralph. He also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Carson to St. Francis Kidney Foundation.

Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service and Cremation Care. Family and friends may send memories and condolences to the family, online at www.schaudtfuneralservice.com.
