Carol Mary (Deckman) Ketterer age 66 passed away at her Glenpool, Oklahoma residence on Monday, August 13, 2012 surrounded by her family members. Carol was born December 29, 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to James William Deckman and Catharine (Smith) Deckman. In 1963 she graduated from John Bartman High School. Carol has lived in Glenpool, Oklahoma area for seven years moving from Philadelphia. Carol was a girl scout leader for Brownie Troop #992 throughout 1970's. She was a member of the Chapel of the Four Chaplains. She worked for the Southwest Community Development Corporation as a community coordinator/planner in which she was in charge of the 1997 Southwest Pride Day Parade and was designated grand marshal of the parade. She received numerous awards in recognition for her nutiring service to her community. Carol won many awards for baking and in horticulture with her entries in the Philadelphia County Fairs. She attends Pritchard Memorial Lutheran Church. Carol was preceded in death by her parents: James and Catharine Deckman, her brother Richard Deckman, her sister Joanne Rynick and her husband George Ketterer (2004). She is survived by her daughter Darlene Allensworth, her brothers James Deckman, Jr., George Deckman, Charles Deckman and Bobby Deckman along with seven loving grandchildren and one great grandchild. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to "Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery http://www.friendsofmountmoriahcemetery.org/p/contributions.html Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at South Heights Cemetery, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service & Cremation Care.
