September 1, 1945 — November 9, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carl Ray Shepard, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who departed this world on November 9, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born on September 1, 1945, in Amarillo, Texas, to George and Cynthia Shepard, Carl's legacy is one marked by love, hard work, and a deep commitment to family.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, with whom he shared a lifetime of cherished memories and sisters Vera Johnson, Dorothy Berry and Sue Doss and brothers George Shepard and Glen Shepard. Together, they built a foundation of love and support that stood the test of time. His children, Stormy McCullar, Susie Keeler, Martha Long, Regina Levy and Billy Morgan, were the center of his world, and his legacy lives on in them.

Carl was a proud and doting grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with affection and imparting the values of family and resilience. His love for his extended family was boundless, and his presence will be deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to share in his warmth.

A skilled roofer by trade, Carl Shepard was a hardworking man who found purpose and joy in his craft. Even after retirement, he continued to lend his skills to various projects, staying active and engaged in the community he held dear. His dedication to his work was matched only by his passion for leisure, with fishing and football ranking high among his favorite pastimes.

A true Texas Tech fan, Carl's allegiance to the Red Raiders was unwavering, and he took great pleasure in cheering on his team, creating lasting memories with friends and family during game days. Beyond his love for sports, Carl was a family-oriented man, finding joy in simple pleasures and the company of loved ones.

Above all, Carl Ray Shepard will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the love he showered upon his family. His legacy is a testament to the strength that comes from genuine connections and the impact of a life well-lived.

As we bid farewell to a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, let us celebrate the enduring spirit of Carl Ray Shepard and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love that he so freely gave during his time on this earth.
