A funeral service to honor and to celebrate the life of Carl Louis Ketchum will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Leonard, 15711 E. 168th Street South, Leonard, OK 74043.
Carl Louis Ketchum passed away peacefully in Tulsa, OK on May 24, 2018, at the age of 89. He was a longtime resident of Broken Arrow, OK.
Carl was born to Rosetta (Wallace) Ketchum and Barney Ketchum on October 23, 1928, in Liberty Mounds, OK. After graduating from Liberty Mounds High School, he went to Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK where he earned his bachelor's degree. During his life, Carl worked as a teacher and developer in real estate. He also coached and taught in the Enid and Owasso, OK area school systems for 15 years. He was a developer and builder on over twelve projects in the surrounding area. He married the love of his life, Betty Lou (Tinkel) Ketchum, on April 23, 1948 in Bixby, OK. Carl will be remembered as a very generous and kind man, loving husband, grandpa, and papaw.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Rosetta and Barney Ketchum.
Carl is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty Ketchum; two sons: Tim Ketchum of Broken Arrow, OK and Chris Ketchum of Rupert, Idaho; six grandchildren: Carissa, Katrina, Jaime, John, David, and Amanda; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, and many other extended loving and supporting family and friends.
