Carl Lavere Huckstep, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the age of 86. He was born Saturday, May 31, 1924 to Vernie W. and Ruby Aldene (Weese) Huckstep in Ford, Kansas. Mr. Huckstep served in the United States Navy during WWII. On November 6, 1987, he married Erma Lorene (Evans). He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Okmulgee. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dane and Berle Wilson. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Erma Lorene Huckstep of the home; daughters, Carla Ann Rathbone and husband, Bob of Tucson, Arizona, Cheryl T. Crichley and husband, Timothy of Okmulgee and Ramona R. Ross and husband, David of Okmulgee; two sisters, Emma L. Anderson and husband, Ron of Fayettville, Arkansas and Mary Anna Eidson of Tulsa; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2010 at the First Assembly of God Church in Okmulgee with Reverend Raymond Doke officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Okmulgee Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Pallbearers will be Shawn Crichley, Jeff Crichley, Joseph Meyer, Clint Ross, Quinton Maurer and Raymond Doke, Jr. Honorary Pallbearer will be Kyle Doke. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee.
