Carl Hans Linnet age 82 of Mounds, Oklahoma passed away December 13, 2012 at St. Johns Medical Centers in Tulsa. Carl was born December 25, 1929 in Canyon, Texas to Carl Linnet and Lucy (Humphries) Linnet. His family moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma and he graduated in 1947 from Sapulpa High School. Carl served in the United States Army in the 2nd infantry during the Korean War. He did his training at Fort Lewis, Washington. Carl saw a lot of action when his unit had to take control of a hill called "Old Baldy". He earned numerous medals - Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal, and Korean Service Medal. Carl worked at Bartlett-Collins where he met and married Ida (Jo) Boydston on August 13, 1953. They moved to California when Carl took a position with Airesearch. At this job he was part of the crew that built the unit the astronauts carried to get into the rocket from the briefing room. Carl moved his family back to Oklahoma in 1964. He worked for North American Rockwell where he help build the first shuttle. He worked at Century in Tulsa and Patty Precision as a machinist. He was very good at his job and could build tools for machines. Some of Carl's hobbies were hunting with his dogs and fishing. He enjoyed working on old chainsaws and weed eaters. He never met a stranger and always had an adventure of some kind to share. Carl was baptized and taught boy's Sunday school at South Heights Baptist Church in his earlier years. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leroy and Charles. He is survived by his wife Jo of Mounds, two sons, Chuck (Shirley) Linnet of Mounds, Mike (Diana) Linnet of Sapulpa, his daughter, Kathy (Howard) Ray of Mounds, his brother Ray Linnet of Mounds, three sisters, Betty Linnet of Sapulpa, Dorothy Lightner of Cushing and Virginia Beaverson of Sapulpa, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren other family members and friends.
