Carl E. Jones, Tulsa resident, passed away with loving family by his side in the early morning December 28, 2018, at the age of 77 years. He was born on April 1, 1941 in Fairland, OK to his parents, William and Nora (Snowden) Jones.
Carl proudly served our country in the U.S. Marines (1959-1963). He met the love of his life, Carol Jones (Lingenfelter); they were married on June 24, 1989 in Eureka Springs, AR. He worked as a Quality Control Supervisor for Rockwell International, Boeing, and Spirit Aerosystems. Carl also enjoyed teaching at Tulsa Technology Center where he taught Composite Fabrication of Aircraft Structures. He found meaning in teaching his students a skill that they could succeed with. Carl was an avid coin collector and had an extensive clown figurine collection. He loved cheering on the OU Sooners, while having a playful rivalry with his OSU fans in the family. Carl always enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, he made nicknames for all members of the family, sometimes several. He was always ready with one his famous “pep talks” for any family member that needed one. Carl was a hard-working man who always made sure his family had everything they needed. He enjoyed going to Grand Lake and working on their lake house. He recently completed a total renovation on their home in Tulsa. Carl and Carol enjoyed traveling, including a cruise to the Bahamas and a trip to the Northeastern United States exploring Massachusetts and Maine. Carl was extremely proud of his family, and enjoyed spending time with them, especially during holidays, birthdays and Father’s Day; however, his favorite holiday of all was Christmas Eve with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Nora Jones, sister, Elsie Presley, and infant brother, Larry Jones.
Carl leaves many loving memories with his family, wife, Carol Jones; sisters, Faye Davis and Bonnie Sue Kinkhead; daughters, Carla Ann Christian and husband Brett, Sheila Sue Jones and partner, Kari Fernley, Jennifer Ann Alfaro; sons, Mark Alan Jones and Brian Lee Cowan and wife, Becky; Grandchildren, Kevin Christian, Teresa Richardson and husband Michael, Morgan N. Jones, Trevor Jones, Alec Jones, (Carl) Blake Jones, Hunter Lee Winingham, Grant Lee Winingham, Landon Carl Winingham, Reece Martel Winingham, Michael Ayden Cowan; Great-grandchildren, Kolby Christian, Brody Christian, Abigail Richardson, and Claire Richardson; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Brandon McCombs officiating.
