Bradley M. Darrow
Bradley M. Darrow, 63, died Sunday, June 18, 2017. He was born May 3, 1954 in Spokane, Wash., to Beverly and the late Howard Darrow.
He was raised in Spokane and graduated from Central Valley High School. He attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyo., and transferred to Lewis and Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho his sophomore year where he played baseball. He graduated with a degree in mathematics and statistics. He received a MBA from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash. He played baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers farm team.
He began his career as an auditor with Aetna Property and Casualty in Spokane.
He married his best friend, Rebecca Ann Clay, Cheney, Wash., at Reno, Nev.; in the same Presbyterian Church, her parents were married. They made their home in Bellevue, Wash., where they welcomed their son, Ryan Matthew Darrow. Brad’s work took his family to many wonderful cities across the United States. Together they lived in Hartford, Ct.; Baltimore, Md.; Nashville, Tenn.; Baton Rouge, La., and Tulsa, Okla. He retired as General Manager of Deep South Insurance in 2006.
Brad was an avid outdoorsman, and found great solace while hunting, fishing, and golfing, especially with his son, Ryan. Mr. Darrow was active in the United Way and volunteered for numerous golf events. After retirement, he and his three golfing friends, Mike, Joe, and Fred, spent many enjoyable hours golfing. One highlight was hitting a hole-in-one on #17 at South Lakes Golf Course on Aug. 11, 2014.
His family and friends will forever remember him as a kind, gentle soul. He was deeply loved and admired by his family.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca, at the home in Tulsa; son, Ryan (Jess) Darrow, and grandson, Cooper, due in August; Tulsa; mother, Beverly Darrow; sister, Debbie (Ken) Gregorich, all of Yakima, Wash.; a half-sister, Danese Maldanado, La Quinta, Calif.; aunts, Mary Ann Darrow, Spokane, and Barbara Mae Reichart, Twin Falls, Ida; one uncle, Bud Zehner, Sheboygan, Wisc.; his brother in law, Paul (Dawn) Clay, Spokane, Wash.; his sister in law, Stacy Zuger, Tulsa; six nieces, Lauri (Jason) Berreman; Teresa (Brian) Ward; Nichole (David) Cheney; Stephanie (Levi) Dennis; Emily Clay, and Ashley Scarpelli; one nephew, Treavor (Rachel) Zuger; seven great-nephews, and one great-niece, and numerous cousins.
A celebration of life will be at Schaudt’s Funeral Service, 5757 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK 74145, Friday, June 23, 2017 at 2 p.m.
