Bonita Maria Ruiz

Bonita Maria Ruiz lived a life full of love, laughter, and had an energy that was hard to match. Born on March 7, 1947, in Pittsburg, California, to Ralph and Mary Lugan, she spent her 77 years making the world around her a little brighter.

Bonita was never one to sit still-she was always busy working, always moving, and always ready for conversation. She loved spending time with friends, and if you had the pleasure of talking with Bonita, you knew that one conversation could turn into many-she loved connecting with people.

She found joy in the little things-yard sales, pretty trinkets, costume jewelry, and anything colorful. She loved to collect beautiful things and surround herself with brightness, both in her home and in her life. Music and dancing brought her happiness, and she carried that joy with her wherever she went.

Above all, Bonita was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her children: Curtis Cain (Jennifer), Charles Cain, Neal Cain (Kim Chi), Beau Cain, Candis Cain, and Kevin Cain (Sam). She was a proud grandmother to Elizabeth, Ashton, Heidi, Chloe, Carter, Macenzie, Cain, Cooper, Gunner, and Willow, and her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her partner, Ricky Ruiz, who was by her side through it all. Bonita was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Ralphy Lugan.

Bonita had a passion for life, and those who knew her will remember her for her strength, determination, and kindness. Her family invites you to celebrate her memory in a way that honors her-by sharing stories, remembering the joy she brought, and keeping her spirit alive in your hearts.
