Funeral Services honoring the life of Bob Hurley will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM, March 10, 2018, at Guts Church, 9120 Broken Arrow Expressway, Tulsa, OK 74145 with Pastor Bill Scheer officiating.
Bobby Gene Hurley Sr. (AKA) Papa, passed away peacefully at the age of 77, on March 6, 2018. He was a great and loving husband, father, grandfather, bother, and friend who will be missed greatly.
Bob was born November 9, 1940 in Salina, Oklahoma, the son of Truman and Imogene Hurley. Bob married the love of his life Beverleigh, (Harrell) Hurley on August 7, 1960. After marrying, the two of them had two wonderful two boys together; Bob Jr., who married Dana and Rod who married Gigi. Bob had eight grandkids that he loved and was proud of; Ryan and his wife Shelley, Kori and her husband Shawn, Jacob, Dakota, Zach, and Ashlie. He leaves behind, one brother; TJ Hurley and his wife Peggy of Florida, and three sisters of Oklahoma; Barbara Sullivan, Sue Turnbow, and Jeannie Miller and her husband Norman. He loved them and their families very much.
Bob enjoyed his life and loved being around people and helping them, whether it was, selling them a car, or just visiting with them, he loved every minute of it. He was always eager to greet you at church, or just out anywhere with his big smile and huge personality. There were two things that he loved to do more than the rest and that was riding his Harley with the love of his life for 57 1/2 years (AKA) mom on the back, and to tell people about Jesus. Before Bob’s Harley riding years, he raced sprint cars for 16 years, which was his way of spending time with his family. Racing every weekend during those years, the family spent most of its time in the garage helping to build cars, working on them, or repairing them after the occasional wrecks that had happened. Bob had one of the best qualities about him never making anyone feel like a stranger because could always spark up a conversion with anybody no matter where he was or what he was doing. He could make a connection that normally lasted a lifetime and could find out more about someone in 30 minutes, than most people could find out in a lifetime. He loved people, life, and God. Bob was a great example of what it means to live life to its fullest and to embrace, care, and show love to everyone!
