Emblem

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Lee Turk, a proud patriot, devoted family man, and lifelong adventurer, on September 23, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 82. Born on September 10, 1942, in Cuero, Texas, to Fred and Paula Turk, Robert lived a life rich with love, dedication, and service.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Frances Turk, whom he married on November 28, 1964. Together they built a beautiful family and a life filled with memories and adventure. Robert's legacy continues through his children, Gary Turk (Malia) and Denise Ratliff (David), and his cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Sydney, and Amanda Turk, along with Emily Ratliff (Travis Vernier) and Will Ratliff (Candace).

He is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Storbeck, and his parents, Fred and Paula.

A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Robert served his country with honor and dedication. Following his service, he built a successful career spanning 45 years at Welders Equipment Company. Robert was also a dedicated member of the Kiwanis Club for 35 years, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to giving back to his community.

Known for his love of the outdoors, Robert found great joy in hunting deer, quail, and duck, often saying that his favorite place in the world was a deer blind. He was also an avid fisherman, enjoying peaceful days on the water. An exceptionally handy and resourceful man, Robert never hired help-he was a true do-it-yourselfer, whether it was tinkering in his workshop or cultivating his impressive garden.

Robert and Frances spent most of their lives in Corpus Christi, Texas, where they raised their family and embraced a life of adventure and exploration. He loved to travel, having experienced the wonders of Alaska, Hawaii, Yellowstone, and the Grand Canyon, but always found his heart returning to nature's simple beauty.

Robert Turk lived a life filled with hard work, loyalty, and love. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

May he rest in eternal peace, his soul forever at home in a place as peaceful as his beloved deer blind.
