BLENDA NEOMA (MINSHALL) PEARSON
Blenda Neoma (Minshall) Pearson, 96, died peacefully at Leisure Village Health Care Center, after suffering a stroke, in the presence of her daughter DeAnn, on June 19, 2019. Blenda was born October 2, 1922 in Bartlesville to Norman and Edith (Ernst) Drake. She was the third of seven children. After the passing of her mother in 1932, she lived with her Grandmother Anna Gipson and attended school in Tryon, Oklahoma. She and Kenneth Minshall were married November 25, 1939. In January of 1943 they bought the farm north and west of Tryon where she lived until moving to Bixby in 2017, to be closer to her daughter. Her grand-daughters were proud of their Grandma because she was always up on technology, fashions and health (which, apparently she knew a little something about), Hollywood, The Queen of England and the Royal Family. She was obsessed with what was going on in the world! Up until a couple of years ago she was very young for her age. She was e-mailing and cell phoning until she was 94. She loved her computer because she could find out anything and then tell the family what they needed to do to stay healthy! Seemed to work for her, but, God had other plans. Sewing was Blenda's passion and she could sew anything and everything, from curtains to Wedding dresses! In her later years she delighted in piecing together quilts for all of her family, including the dogs! She loved baking pies for every occasion and her Maple Bars were a delight to all of us, especially for the 4th of July.
Blenda was preceded in death by her parents, and all of her siblings, first husband Kenneth, son Gary, granddaughter Jennifer Minshall, and second husband Chief Pearson.
She is survived by her daughter, DeAnn Piter (special friend George Montgomery), daughter-in-law, Sandra, five grandchildren, Beth Eckert (Chuck), Sherri Shields, Krista Wade, Stephanni Taylor (Troy) and Austin Minshall. She also is survived by ten great-grand children, Paige (David) Scheuerman, Taylor (Chase) Barranco, Jonathan (Alex), Jessica, Nathan, and Daniel Wade, Brett (Sara) Connor and Sydney Taylor and Markus Minshall. Blenda was especially excited to have seven Great-great grandchildren: Claire, Lily, Shae, twins Maverick and Mason, Grady and Lexi.
We wish to thank the staff at Leisure Village for the care and kindness shown to Mom and also the wonderful Hospice Staff of St. Johns Hospice of Tulsa.
