Blanche Shade

Blanche J. (Dugger) Shade age 86 passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Inverness Village in Tulsa, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family members.
Blanche was born October 21, 1924 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Tolbert and Lee Otha (Stone) Dugger. She graduated from Sayre High School with the Class of 1942 and attended Southwestern College. Blanche married David Hobert Shade on July 28, 1951. The couple, throughout their married life, lived in Eugene, Oregon, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, White Swan, Washington, Fontana, California, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. In July of 1972 Blanche was ordained as a minister in the Pentecostal Holiness Church. She worked for twenty-four years as a secretary for Fontana Christian School before retiring in 1991. Blanche liked being a homemaker and she also liked sewing and shopping.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents: Tolbert and Lee Otha Dugger; her brother Harry Dugger and her sister, Linnie Dee Walker.
She is survived by her husband: David H. Shade, her daughters: Linda Shade, Sandra Combs, Kathleen Crain, her grandchildren: Ryan Combs, Tyler Combs, Amber Crain, her sister, Nancy Marie Morgenthaler; her cousins, John and Lois McCullars, Frankie & Bryce Beavers, her nieces, Louise Roehl and Joyce Turner; her nephews, Philip Walker, Boyd Morgenthaler, Steven Dugger and Ross Dugger.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Home.

A private graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Memorial service is at 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at Inverness Village Founders Hall in Tulsa. Dr. James Phifer will officiate.
