Billy Ray Lenard age 84 passed away at his Mounds, Oklahoma residence on Friday, June 27, 2014.
Bill was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on December 26, 1929 to Dock Lenard and Maggie (Vanhoy) Lenard. Bill served in the United States Army as an MP during the Korean War. He was stationed in Berlin Germany through out the length of his service from 1948 until 1952. He married Wanda Elsie Jean Woodell on August 30, 1952. They have been married for sixty-one years. Bill worked as a milkman for MeadowGold until he retired with thirty plus years of employment. One of Bill's most exciting times in his life was when he coached the Mitchell Cougars Little League Baseball Team in the early '70's with Joe Espinosa and his extraordinary family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and rodeo. Bill was an extremely devoted husband, father and papaw to his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Dock and Maggie Lenard, his two sisters, Wanda, Eula May, his three brothers, Ross, JD and Don.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Elsie Jean Lenard, his sons, Rick Lenard (Cresenda) Mounds, Mark Lenard (Sherry) of Mounds, and a papaw to his four grandchildren : Chris, Pam, Matt and Diona, his five great grandchildren and one on the way, one great great grandchild and one on the way, his brother, Larry Lenard of McAlester, his sister, Sue Beard widow of Bob of Prattville, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Home.
Graveside services are Wednesday, July 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Chaplain Terry Snelling will officiate.
Pallbearers are: Chris Lenard, Ray Franklin, Ben Ricketson, Matt Lenard, Todd Espinosa and Deno Espinosa. Honorary pallbearers are: Mike Schaum, John Thomas, George Field, Paul Fixico and Derrell Griffith.
