Billy Gene Payton, 64, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at his residence.

Billy was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 25, 1953, to Arlene B (Shaw) Casey and the late Andrew L. Payton. He attended Kearney High School in Kearney, Arizona. After graduation he served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1970 to 1972, until he was honorably discharged. Billy worked as a concrete finisher at Hydro with his father and had many fond memories from his time there. Billy had many talents and used them while working as a handyman fixing up apartments and helping with the landscape for the Tulsa Public Schools system. He spent a lot of time fishing with his friend on the pontoon boat and telling stories. Billy loved to visit his best friend Kenny in Colorado. He enjoyed spending time with his three wonderful children and his grandchildren. Billy collected baseball cards with Andrew, and they had quit a large collection. He was a huge OU Sooners fan. His family, especially, his grandchildren, meant everything to him. The grandchildren enjoyed getting to spend the night with him and just hanging out at home with him.

Billy is preceded in death by his father; Andrew Payton, nephew; Jeremiah B. Payton.

He is survived by his mother; Arlene (Shaw) Casey, children; Anthony Payton, Adrianne Craig and her husband Starvell, and Andrew Payton, siblings; Margie Cain and Kenny Payton, best friend; Kenny Smoot and his wife Melissa, grandchildren; Elijah, Malik, and Isaac Craig, and Ayden Payton, and many other caring family and friends.

Viewing will be held 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Chapel, 719 E. 141st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma 74033.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Chapel, 719 E. 141st Street, Glenpool, Oklahoma 74033. Mrs. Glenna Mize will officiate.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, located on the corner of East 1080 Road and N42000 Road, Checotah, Oklahoma 74426.
