Bill Leon Mcconnell

Bill Leon McConnell, a resident of Okmulgee, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the age of 72. He was born April 27, 1941 in Joplin, Missouri. He graduated from Joplin High School and got his Master Degree in Political Science and Sociology. Bill service in the United States Air Force and retired from the Okmulgee County Youth Service in Okmulgee. Bill enjoyed working on old cars, going to car shows and being with friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Blanche McConnell. Survivors include his wife, Barbara McConnell; son, Doryn McConnell; brother, Bob McConnell; nine grandchildren, Chance, Shonna, Brandee and Kelbe McConnell,Cody Bortisser, Ethan Wadley, Eli Oliver, Michala and Isaac Noble and three great grandchildren, Dayton Bortisser, Angel Bettencourt and Karrie Swinney. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Jackson Funeral Home in Okmulgee with Reverend Dale Litsey officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force.
