Beulah Holt Jones

Beulah Holt Jones passed away peacefully Monday, January 4, 2016, surrounded by her loving family after a continuing battle with ovarian cancer, pneumonia and heart failure.

Beulah was born on a farm in Jones Cove, Sevier County, TN on March 13, 1937 to Nora Dixon and A.E. Holt. She graduated from Sevier County High in 1955 and then from Business College . After a brief stint as a stewardess for American Airlines, she accepted a job with the Tennessee Corporation Commission in Nashville, where she met her husband of 51 years, Joseph L. Jones. They moved to Tulsa in 1979, after moving from Nashville to Stuttgart, GE and then to Dallas, TX. She has been a faithful member of Bethany and Fellowship Lutheran Churches since moving to Tulsa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Elmer and brother LtCdr. A.A. Holt. She is survived by: her husband Joseph, son Ernest and daughter Stephanie; sisters Janice (Vaughn) Davis and Zula (Bill) Riden of TN; sister-in-law Marie Holt of TX; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and scores of dear friends.

Beulah retired from US DOI, Minerals Management Service in 1997 as a secretary. She was a devoted mother and wife; an accomplished seamstress, cook, jelly maker, quilter and homemaker. She also volunteered with NARFE and with FLC quilters.

The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday January 6 at Schaudt-Teel Funeral Home, 5757 S. Memorial Dr, Tulsa OK.

Entombment at Memorial Park Cemetery at 10 a.m. Thursday Jan 7. Service will be held 11 a.m. at Fellowship Lutheran Church, 6727 S. Sheridan Road, Tulsa, OK 74133. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to Fellowship Lutheran Church, or the charity of your choice.
