Betty Sue Suarez

November 11, 1934 — June 10, 2016

Betty Sue Suarez (Campbell), 81, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on June 10, 2016.

Betty Sue Suarez (Campbell) was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on November 11, 1934. She attended Charles Page High School in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

Betty was married to Oscar Suarez Roca on September 14th, 1951; they were married 44 years.

Betty was an artist of many mediums. She was an award winning teddy bear artist, whose handcrafted bears have been purchased by individuals as far away as Japan. She also loved to paint and sing for those near to her. Through her marriage to Oscar and her success as an artist, Betty was able to travel the world and live abroad. She befriended people from all walks of life, all of whom she spoke of warmly and cherished their friendships over the years.

Eventually, Betty returned home to Tulsa. Here she enjoyed time spent gardening and reading. She also took great pride in her Cherokee heritage and devoted much time to researching her and her loved ones' genealogy.

Betty's kindness was exceptional, as she opened her heart and her home to any in need. Her laughter and fiery spirit were contagious. Betty lived a full and vibrant life and will be remembered dearly by all who knew her.

Betty is survived by her children Marissa Suarez, Lisa Suarez, Jamee Suarez-Howard, Carlos Suarez, Robin Suarez and Melissa Cremin, her sister, Judith Campbell, fourteen grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and many nieces, cousin and friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Suarez Roca, her father James Campbell, her mother, Dexter Looney Campbell and her son, Tony Suarez.
