Betty June Covington

Betty June (Burris) Covington age 68 passed away August 6, 2009 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Betty was born January 9, 1941 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to F. M. Burris, Jr. and Marveloie Ann (Simpson) Burris. She graduated from Glenpool High School with the Class of 1960. She married Jack Covington on October 7, 1983 in Glenpool. Betty was a beautician and owned Betty's Beauty Shop. Betty also played the keyboard for the "Little Big Band" which her husband was a member. She loved to cook and spend time with her family and friends. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church in Mounds, Oklahoma.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother: Marveloie Ann Burris; her brother: Johnny Darrell Burris; her grandson: Grady Lollis and her beloved husband: Ted (Jack) Gilford Covington who passed away April 30, 2008.
Betty is survived by her two sons: Jimmy Dee Barrett and his wife, Vickie of Tulsa; Danny Ray Barrett and his wife, Deborah of Mounds; her father: F. M. Burris, Jr. of Mounds; her two step-children: Janie Lollis of Tulsa; Ted Riley and Pam of Glenpool along with fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, August 10, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 11th at First Baptist Church - Mounds, 101 East 14th Street, Mounds, OK. Reverend Dick Knox will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Mounds, Oklahoma.
