Betty Jane Blankenship

Betty Jane (Sutterfield) Blankenship of 80 years passed away peacefully on December 12, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital.

Betty was born on February 5, 1935 in Morris Oklahoma to James and Mary Sutterfield. She grew up in Morris and attended Morris High School. She married Albert Neal Blankenship, the love of her life in Harrison Arkansas on October 18, 1952. Betty was a homemaker, she loved to read, and enjoyed playing with her dogs Chloe, Cleo and Bentley. She was a stranger to none and always had a beautiful smile on her face. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Betty lived by the motto, “If you don’t have anything good to say, keep your mouth shut."

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Sutterfield, her brothers Earl and Ray Sutterfield, her husband Albert Neal Blankenship, son Albert Benjamin Blankenship and grandson David Wayne VanStraten.

Betty is survived by her children Mike Blankenship and wife Kay, Jesse Blankenship and wife Debra, Marvin Blankenship, Teresa Sherrill and husband Robby, Jeannie Sutton and husband Bill, also her brother in law Benny Blankenship and sister in law Betty Smith. Betty had eighteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 14th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Schaudt Okmulgee Funeral Service Chapel.

Graveside Service will be held 1:00pm, Tuesday, December 15th 2015, at Okmulgee Cemetery with Pastor Wesley Berry officiating.
