Betty Jean Ryals Betty Jean Ryals, a resident of Schulter, went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 9, 2011, 15 days before her 78th. She was born May 24, 1933 to Floyd and Lucille (Crawford) Thatcher in Schulter, Oklahoma. On October 28, 1950, she married Eugene Ryals in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Betty believed that God came first and followed by her family. She loved raising birds, fishing and family get-togethers and holidays. Betty never threw anything away and treasured every picture and scrap of paper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Lucille Thatcher. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Eugene Ryals of the home; brother, Wayne Thatcher of Gore; son, Mike Ryals and wife, Carla of Schulter, son, Ron Ryals and wife, Angie of Schulter and daughter, Diana Dreessen and partner, J.C. Hammer of Schulter; grandchildren, Regina Potter and husband, John of Okmulgee, David Stogner and wife, Christy of Okmulgee, Anthony Ryals of Okmulgee, Michael Ryals and wife, Stephanie of Collinsville, Tiffany Ryals of Schulter and Michelle Ryals and partner, Katie Lehman of Tulsa, Braley Ryals and Wyatt Ryals, both of Schulter; great grandchildren, Justin Rhoads of Okmulgee, Heather Rhoads of Warner, Nicholas Potter, Ethan Stogner and Hunter Stogner, all of Okmulgee and Ava Ryals; nephews, Wayne Thatcher, Jr. and Steve Thatcher; nieces, Marilyn Thatcher and Becky Thatcher; her loyal companion, a Pomeranian named, Cheyenne and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Henryetta with Reverend George Christy officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Henryetta. Pallbearers will be Anthony Ryals, Michael Ryals, Justin Rhoads, J.C. Hammer, James Pannell and Steve Stephenson. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Shurden-Jackson Funeral Home in Henryetta.
